The Quincy Bog is a Natural Area protected and managed by
Rumney
Ecological Systems. The Bog is open year round for self-guided tours. During the summer the Ruth V. Fisher Lecture Series presents programs on a variety of natural history-oriented topics. Throughout the late spring, summer, and early fall Nature Walks focus on a variety of bog related features. The Nature Trail, Summer Programs and Nature Walks are open to the public and free of charge.
In addition to the protection of the Quincy Bog, and the nature education programs associated with the Bog, Rumney Ecological Systems is a Land Trust registered under the name Pemi-Baker Land Trust and a member of the Land Trust Alliance. We currently protect three properties through direct ownership: the 45 acre Quincy Bog, the 92-acre Quincy Pastures Forest on East Rumney Road, and the 5-acre Baker Forest, on the Quincy Road in Rumney. We hold two conservation easements on a 136-acre parcel in Dorchester, NH and a 130-acre parcel in Rumney and are currently actively working with 2 other landowners in the Baker River Valley and the upper Pemigewasset River Valley who have asked us to hold conservation easements on their property. If you have property in these areas that you would like protected from development by a conservation easement or other means, please contact us at the email address in the sidebar to the left. We would be pleased to discuss possibilities with you.
