June 13: Wolves by Debbi McDonough
Debbi McDonough, a member of the New Hampshire Wolf Alliance, raises wolves at her home
on East Rumney road. After a short presentation at the Bog Nature Center, we will go back to
her house to meet the wolves in person and have refreshments there. She will have refreshments
on hand for the wolves, too, for those who want to feed them.

June 27: The Geology of the Baker River Valley by Scott Bailey
Dr. Bailey will explain the origin of the bedrocks and surficial geology of the Baker River Valley.
Most of what we see now was formed during the last glacial period, but what lies
underneath is even more important in shaping our valley. What do we have, and how did we get it?

July 11: The Planet Pluto by Eliot Young
Dr. Young will speak on the planet Pluto, comparing it to other galactic bodies and discussing
what these bodies tell us about the formation of our solar system. The speaker is a Visiting Professor fo Astronomy at
Dartmouth this semester.

July 25: Ground Cover and Plantings at Plymouth State College by Steve Sweedler
Mr. Sweedler, the horticulturist responsible for the beautiful grounds at Plymouth State College
will speak on successful use of ground covers and a selection of favorite plants from the campus.

August 8: Old Fashioned Apple Varieties by Steve Wood
Remember the names? Northern Spy, Baldwins, Winesaps, Greenlings...all these and many more.
Mr. Wood, of Poverty Lane Orchards in Lebanon NH, will speak on old fashioned apple varieties.

August 22: Diving Around the World by Chris Newbert
Mr. Newbert, world famous underwater photographer, will take us with him around the world
while he shows us some of his most interesting spots.
Programs begin at 7:00 o'clock in
the evening at the Quincy Bog Nature Center located on Quincy Bog Road,
off Quincy Road, in Rumney, New Hampshire. See sidebar for a link to a yahoo interactive map to help guide you to the Nature Center. These programs, sponsored by the Ruth V.Fisher Fund, are free and
open to the public. Light refreshments are served after each
