Nature Walks in Summer 2006
- May 23 and May 30 "Bird Walks in the Plymouth/Holderness Intervale" led by Bill Taffe
We'll meet at 7:30 AM in the parking lot behind the Facilities Services Center at Plymouth State University (the furthest back lot) in the Plymouth/Holderness Intervale and walk to the "moats". The walk is scheduled for 2 1/2 hours but participants are welcome to shorten or lengthen the time to suit their own schedule. These walks are suitable for novice birders. Bring binoculars, field guides and bug dope (and a snack or water if you'd like). For more information call Bill at (603)786-2553.
- July 8 "Sedges" led by Brett Engstrom
This workshop will begin with a field identification walk around the Bog at 9:00 AM followed by microscopic examination of collected samples in the Nature Center. Class size is limited to 12. This program is sponsored by the Ruth V. Fisher Fund and is free to all participants but pre-registration is required. Contact Jody Williams at (603) 786-9053 to register or receive more information.
The Quincy Bog Nature Center is located at the end of Quincy Bog Road, off Quincy Road in Rumney. See sidebar for a link to a yahoo interactive map to help guide you to the Nature Center. For further information or directions, phone Jody Williams at (603)786-9053.
